Victim Quick Response Program – VQRP

The Victim Quick Response Program (VQRP) is a program that provides short-term assistance to victims in the immediate aftermath of a violent crime. This program aims to lessen the impact of violent crime through immediate support services, increase the safety of victims of violent crime and help prevent re-victimization. The program aims to support direct victims, witnesses, and immediate family members of victims by providing financial assistance with essential expenses to lessen the impact of violent crime through immediate support services, increase the safety of victims of violent crime and help prevent re-victimization.

Victim Quick Response Program – VQRP

Victim Quick Response Program offers limited financial assistance to victims of violent crimes who require immediate assistance that cannot be obtained through other sources.

Eligible victims of homicide, attempt murder, serious assault, domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking and hate crimes have access to the following assistance through the Victim Quick Response Program.

Emergency Expenses within 45 days of the date of the incident, for eligible victims, for emergency home safety expenses to secure premises for victim safety, emergency transportation costs, emergency child care and dependent care for elderly and special needs dependents, emergency accommodation, meals and personal care items, emergency vision care, costs for crime scene clean-up and visible hate crime graffiti.

Funeral Expenses within 45 days of the date of the incident to assist eligible families of homicide victims;

Emergency Counselling within 90 days of the date of the incident to provide short-term, early intervention counselling to help victims of serious crimes recover from their experience.
